What is a "Higher Self"?

Lastnight was the New Moon in Gemini and I performed a beautiful New Moon Ritual with my Tarot & Oracle cards.  I lit candles and set up a crystal grid.  My focus for the New Moon this time around is to embrace things I wanted to start fresh in rather than focus on things I wanted to shed and get rid of.

My intentions were about finding and embracing my Higher Self.

Who is our higher self? When you hear people use this term, what comes to mind?

For me, my higher self is my soul. The beautiful burst of energy that we cannot see but we can surely feel.  It is that piece of ourselves we come face to face with in dreams and when we are meditating heavily.  Our Higher Self guides us though the tough times in life and will always be there for answers so long as we are willing to listen.

I wasn't always sure if I was tapping into my higher self when I first started my Spiritual Journey, but after years of learning and working with the Tarot and building my stamina with meditations, I found that my Higher Self has always been there I just needed to quiet my mind chatter and open my heart to meeting her....or me...lol!

As a Tarot Reader I have the ability to pull cards and make connections with spirit.  I do this for clients regularly, but when it comes to trusting my messages for myself, well, let's just say I sometimes doubt my own abilities more than I should.  I am much too hard on myself!  This is where trusting in other Readers comes in.  I have a handful of Readers I turn to when I am looking for a solid reading. This is my way of making an appointment to meet with my Higher Self when I feel like my own readings aren't cutting it.

But the cool thing about this?  I can communicate with my Higher Self simply by quieting my mind, closing my eyes, and just feeling what comes to mind when I ask a question.  That instant thought/feeling? That is your intuition.  That is your answer.  That is your guidance.  Trust in it!

Sure I been reading Tarot for a few years now and I know I am good at what I do, but I do still doubt myself.  I wanted to share this piece because I am sure many of you out there asked yourselves...am I really connecting with my Higher Self or maybe you wanted to ask what IS a Higher Self but you felt too embarrassed to do so.

So here you go, my loves.  I apologize if this seems rambled.  I tend to let my fingers fly and I type what comes to mind.  It is another form of channeling I do!
